Qualitative survey methodology focuses on the identification of circumstances and motives by interviewing - as a general rule - a small group of individuals in detail and quite extensively about a certain topic. Qualitative methodology also means that those individuals do not need to stick to predetermined answer categories but can phrase their statements openly. Due to its open character, qualitative surveys allow for comprehensive understanding and identifying unconscious processes und thought patterns.
